We are Hawkeye Heat & Air

At Hawkeye Heat & Air, we’re more than just HVAC and electrical technicians — we’re a local, family-rooted team dedicated to keeping homes and businesses comfortable, safe, and efficient all year long. From new installations and system upgrades to maintenance and emergency repairs, we bring experience, integrity, and a commitment to quality to every project we take on. Our goal is simple: deliver reliable service and peace of mind to every customer we serve.

Meet the founder

Kurt is the owner of Hawkeye Heat & Air. As a small business owner in a service-based business he is involved in and enjoys all aspects of the business. He was born in northeast Ohio in 1991 where he lived until the age of 14 when his family then moved to Bloomfield. He eventually graduated from Davis County High School in 2009 and currently lives in the Bloomfield area. He has two older brothers that farm locally with their families, a younger sister that farms in Minnesota with her family, and his parents own/operate The Red Shed store west of Bloomfield. In the summer of 2024 he got a private pilot’s license and so when not working, he enjoys flying.

  • Kevin is a full time HVAC/electrical apprentice at Hawkeye Heat & Air where he started working in May of 2024. He was born May 25, 2005 in Ottumwa and has lived there his whole life. Both of his parents were born in Mexico so he comes from a Hispanic descent and is fully bilingual in English and Spanish. He has four siblings, three of them being older and one being younger. Outside of working at Hawkeye, Kevin enjoys playing basketball, playing the keyboard with a band he is in, and spending time with his family and girlfriend.

  • Tom is our newest Hawkeye Heat & Air team member. He joins the team with years of experience in the field and will help us continue to serve our customers with best service possible.

  • Joseph is a part time HVAC/electrical install technician for Hawkeye Heat & Air. He has been with us since September of 2023 and has practice in ductwork fabrication and general HVAC & electrical installation. He was born as the oldest child in northeast Ohio in 2008 but shortly after his family moved to their current home in southwest Davis County where he now lives with his parents and six siblings. He is homeschooled and when not working at Hawkeyemor doing schooling, Joseph works on the family dairy farm. His hobbies consist of woodworking, mechanical work on farm equipment, and amateur CAD design. He also enjoys spending time with family and looks forward to bringing satisfaction to the customers of Hawkeye Heat & Air!

  • Codey joined the team as a full-time HVAC and electrical installation technician at Hawkeye Heat & Air, in May 2025. Originally from central Illinois, he and his wife Cassie married in 2020, then relocated to southeast Iowa in 2021. Codey is a proud family man. He became a father in 2022 with the birth if his daughter Carsyn. He and Cassie are expecting their second child in September 2025. His parents and older brother still reside in Illinois. Outside of work, Codey enjoys dirt track racing, hunting, fishing, and spending quality time outdoors with his family.

  • Dawn joined the Hawkeye Team in October 2025 as the Office Assistant. She spent 30 plus years in the healthcare field as a Nursing Home Administrator prior to coming on board with Hawkeye Heat and Air. 

    Dawn grew up in Davis County around the Bloomfield and Drakesville areas.  She and her husband Kelly currently reside in Bloomfield.  They have 3 grown children and 4 grandchildren.

    In her spare time, Dawn enjoys spending time outdoors, going to antique auctions and re-purposing or upcycling items with her husband’s help.
